Job Title: Sr. DevSecOps Engineer

Work Location: Remote / Washington DC Metropolitan Area (hybrid)

Clearance Required: Secret (active or interim)

We are currently seeking an experienced DevSecOps engineer to join our team and help our federal customers to modernize its systems and operations in cloud. The project is starting afresh and therefore your contribution as a driven self-starter will be key to developing and leading a successful DevSecOps framework. This also includes tackling the challenges of Federal security requirements while implementing the quality driven software practices and SRE instrumentation to reduce manual toil. If you like to dabble in multiple technologies and shift-left automations and then choose just the right ones to create a unified software delivery and operations platform, please consider this opportunity.

This position requires candidate who is local to the Washington DC metropolitan area since the 25% of the work will be performed within federal offices located in Washington DC.

Responsibilities:
  • Architecting and maintaining software / infrastructure build, test, and deployment CI/CD pipelines on AWS GovCloud
  • Creating, managing, and maintaining Pipelines, Data Integrations, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for our CI/CD pipelines and associated project-based deployments
  • Automating infrastructure monitoring using government provided and AWS native tools to discover anomalies as well as proactively identify root cause of issues
  • Apply and implement Self-healing, scalability and Immutable Infrastructure best practices to reduce manual toil in infrastructure maintenance, monitoring and recovery
  • Assisting with determining guidelines and standards for deploying to AWS Cloud infrastructure and container/Kubernetes environments, system and application security requirements, and developing security solutions
  • Integrate available "Sec" tools and in CI/CD and operations to prov ide continuous security compliance.
  • Educating teams on adoption of DevSecOps practices and tooling, and supporting those practices and tools
  • Assisting teams with DevSecOps issues related to performance, configuration, or otherwise
  • Identifying and implementing improvements to how we securely build, deploy and monitor software projects

Required Skills:
  • At least 14 year of IT operations and Infrastructure management experience
  • At least 4 years of DevOps and Cloud experience
  • At least 2 year of IaC scripting experience with CloudFormation or Terraform
  • At least 1 year of security automation administration experience
  • Experience with Git, CI/CD Pipelines and Quality gates automations
  • Experience automating AWS Monitoring, Splunk or similar observability tools
  • Experience with Security Scanning Tools such as Claire, OSCAP, Twistlock
  • Experience with Static Code Quality Scanning Tools: SonarQube
  • Stays current with related technology and practices
  • Effective organization and time management skills
  • Experience with AWS networking, Service Mesh configuration (Istio)
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in IT or similar relevant field
