SR. RESEARCH ADVISOR

Must be able to work on-site Tuesday - Thursday.1. Conceptualizes and determines data analysis strategies and analyzes and synthesizes syndicated and secondary data and research to identify trends, draw insights, and address critical questions to achieve organizational objectives. This includes responding to internal client (colleagues’) requests, as well as proactively anticipating research needs. This involves working with multiple data sources and constrained timelines.2. Selects the most appropriate data sources which maximize the value and utility of the research across the organization and with the goal of building and aggregating a base of knowledge around issues.3. Consults with and advises staff on best approaches for answering business questions. Effectively communicates with colleagues to understand their business needs and provide actionable answers to their questions. Collaborates with clients and stakeholders throughout to ensure that each project successfully addresses key questions and that the results will enhance internal decision-making or provide information necessary to inform external audiences. Interprets and clarifies findings and identifies their implications for stakeholders/decision makers. Advises stakeholders and senior management on areas of insights.4. Develops clear, well-integrated research deliverables, including through reports, summaries, data visualization and graphics, that effectively communicate data and insights, collaborating with the Communication and Creative Services Team to accomplish this. Synthesizes a complex array of data into clear, actionable insights for their stakeholders in a manner that maximizes understanding, credibility, and use. Represents or supports data and insights sharing with internal and external audiences. Responsible for work with high visibility.5. Plays leadership role in managing knowledge resources by actively sharing knowledge, collaborating with others, and ensuring the maintenance of up to date research records that are accessible by others. This includes contributing content to the Library & Strategic Services’ issue area newsletters, including Fun & Fulfillment, Customer Experience and Technology & Innovation. This also includes being an active participant and contributor in the pilot and implementation of Insights Sharing Solution, which is managed by Library & Strategic Services.6. Manages the relationship with syndicated data/research providers, including contract renewal, leveraging the resources as applicable and based on our service agreements and developing and maintaining provider relationships to improve the ROI of our syndicated data subscriptions. Becomes an expert on the appropriate implementation of these resources and understands their value. Manages the acquisition and development of new syndicated tools; proposes ideas for new data resources. When appropriate, develops requests for proposals, selects vendors, and manages work of vendors.7. Acts as an Library & Strategic Services liaison to the Self & Personal Fulfillment Consumer Insights Team. Collaborates on the development of a set of issue or topic-aligned research plans from a secondary/syndicated data perspective to address critical questions to support an Association priority. Stays abreast of key news, policies, and consumer trends related to their core issue areas and uses that knowledge to proactively frame their own syndicated/secondary research.8.Serves as an expert resource on data sources, tools, and analytical procedures. Provides peer review of other research projects including those prepared by vendors or senior research advisors. Provides technical assistance, references, and consultation. Provides training on self-service data analytics tools.9. Conducts administrative duties related to secondary and syndicated research, when necessary, including vendor management, maintaining updated Research files, updating the project management system, and finalizing and posting of research internally and externally (when appropriate).

EDUCATIONMinimum BA/BS degree.Master’s degree is preferable, but not required.
