WWT is looking for a highly qualified, experienced, and self-motivated individual with a Top-Secret Clearance to perform the duties of a Storage Engineer to support our customer in Washington DC.

Position Overview:

The Storage Engineer is responsible for the design, implementation, and expansion of the program’s storage systems. They participate in planning, design, implementation, deployment, documenting, and testing of these storage systems. Based on analysis, make recommendations, and provide advice on storage system improvements, automation, and risk management. They interface with technical stake holders to ensure they have a clear understanding of storage system requirements. They also develop system documentation in support of current and future systems.

This position in a hybrid role; individuals who apply must be willing to work onsite (in Washington DC, Foggy Bottom-area) at least 2 days/week and live within 30 miles of the DC worksite. There may be times where the Storage Engineer must be downtown to address critical outages that require on-premises troubleshooting. Essential Functions, Responsibilities & Duties may include, but are not limited to:

Serve as Lead or Subject Matter Expert for the Storage Engineering area. Maintain the physical and virtual storage environments on unclassified and classified networks. Perform daily system checks and review system logs to ensure optimal performance. Troubleshoot issues escalated to the Tier 2 level. Implement baseline changes and infrastructure upgrades. Respond to change requests and incidents. Perform technical infrastructure, storage evaluations and analysis. Plan, create, optimize, and maintain the physical and virtual storage environments on unclassified and classified networks. Perform technical infrastructure, storage evaluations and analysis. Recommend upgrades as appropriate. Manage NAS to cloud backups

Education Requirements BA/BS Degree (relevant experience can be considered in lieu of degree).

Experience Requirements Work Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

5+ years related experience Storage Attached Networks administration; Microsoft clustering experience; Prefer NetApp Certified Data Management Administrator (NCDA). Prefer Dell EMC Isilon Solutions Specialist.

Required Certifications IAT level II Compliant certification (i.e. Security+ CE, SSCP etc). Full list here of IAT level II compliant certs: certifications/
