Project Scope:

Our client has an immediate need for a System Engineer (O365) with the following skills and experience:

Responsibilities:

  • Building new and/or rebuilding existing servers from the "ground up" including hardware, peripherals, settings, services, storage, directories.
  • Performing daily system monitoring and verifying the integrity and availability of all services and related hardware and software.
  • Diagnosing hardware/software problems and repairing/replacing defective components.
  • Performing regular backup maintenance including daily backup operations to ensure all required file systems and data are successful backed up on the appropriate device.
  • Recovering from hardware and software failures, including those catastrophic in nature. Coordinating and communicating with impacted service owners and stakeholders as necessary.
  • Applying platform-level, OS-level, and application-level patches and upgrades on a regular basis including executing emergency and ad-hoc patching and upgrades.
  • Conducting technical research and development to enable continuous service improvement of the infrastructure.
  • Automating repetitive systems administration tasks to provide economies of scale.
  • Creating from scratch or updating existing documentation for processes, procedures, or references. Maintaining logs related to system functions as well as maintenance and repair records.
  • Support and coordinate with across IT teams when troubleshooting incidents related to core and ancillary service delivery.
  • Assist project teams as needed during all phases of project management including testing, executing, and rolling out solutions.
  • Interpret technical information. Discuss the information with others including such information with concepts or terminology with which many people may be unfamiliar.
  • Provide advice or recommend a course of action to leadership on resolving technical problems or improving the technology infrastructure.
  • Stay current with developments in the systems administration discipline. Stay current with relevant technological advancements.
  • Maintain a highly diverse and fast-paced workload that may include a variety of tasks, efforts, or projects.
  • Act as the on-call systems administrator on a rotating schedule. Occasional weekend and evening work may be required.

Requirements:

  • Intermediate skill administering Microsoft Windows Active Directory environment including domain services, sites and services, users and computers, and group policy administration.
  • Intermediate skill configuring and administering Active Directory Certificate Services and Federation Services.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure including Azure Active Directory
  • Intermediate experience Office 365 products Experience with design, planning and implementation of Microsoft Exchange and Active Directory
  • Proficiency in DNS, Active Directory, ADFS, Intune, Azure Active Directory, DirSync, Hybrid Exchange, SharePoint, or Skype Infrastructures and how they integrate with larger Microsoft collaboration platform
  • Experience with cloud-native SaaS solution management
  • Experience knowledge of Office 365 tools, functionality, migrations, and implementations in enterprise environments (including Exchange, OneDrive, Teams, SharePoint, Skype, on premise, online and hybrid)
  • O365 design and integration experience.
  • Intermediate skill administering Windows Server 2008, 2008R2, 2012, 2012R2, and 2016.
  • Administering Red Hat Enterprise Linux.
  • Administering VMware vSphere.
  • Administering VMware Horizon.
  • Intermediate skill administering Windows Server Update Services
  • Intermediate skill in PowerShell v3 or higher.
  • Proven experience working with NAS and SAN devices such as Synology storage arrays, EMC VNX and Unity storage arrays, and EMC Elastic Cloud Storage.
  • Proven experience working with the TCP/IP stack and related services.
  • Proven experience working with DNS, DHCP, and IP addressing schemes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent customer facing interaction skills
