Technical Manager, Software Engineering

On any given day our developers are building products that manage nearly a trillion dollars of potential real estate transactions.We are hiring a Software Development Manager to lead a portion of our Washington, DC team of engineers. This position has the opportunity for hybrid work with up to two days remote per week. Four-day work weeks are also an option for those applicants that are interested. Additionally, this role is bonus eligible. RESPONSIBILITIES- Lead an Agile software development team. Lead Scrum ceremonies. Deliver done-done features to customers at high velocity.
- Act as a player-coach, who can mentor & coach team members into highly productive team players. Promote can-do attitude, engineering mindset and collaboration as fundamental team values.
- Influence web application architecture and CI/CD pipeline improvements.
- Drive continuous improvement by focusing on engineering excellence
- Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and other Agile teams to deliver large initiatives. Develop roadmap
- Work with recruiting to identify, hire and onboard top industry talent
- Develop and maintain an in-depth working knowledge of the CRE Industry and CoStar's business model / technology
- Continually evaluate emerging technologies to identify opportunities, trends and best practices that can be used to strengthen CoStar's technology platform and development practices
- Adopt an owner-operator mindset and demonstrate full ownership of the product and technical platforms.
- Act as "Voice of the Customer" when participating in product readiness reviews
- Bachelor's degree
- 7+ years of relevant work experience
- 3+ years of experience leading Agile Team(s)
- 3+ years' experience in modern web and database technologies
- 3+ years' experience building large distributed, API-driven systems
- Demonstrated experience with Functional, OOP and software design patterns.
- Experience leading technical teams, working through complex requirements and offering relevant, timely technical solutions
- Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks such as React, Angular, or VueJS
- Working knowledge with NodeJS, .NET Core and C# is a plus
- Experience with the AWS platform
- Experience with non-relational databases such as DynamoDB, MongoDB or ElasticSearch
- Experience with relational databases (preferably SQL Server)
- Experience with Docker and container orchestration
