We are hiring a Software Development Manager to lead a portion of our Washington, DC team of engineers. This position has the opportunity for hybrid work with up to two days remote per week. Four-day work weeks are also an option for those applicants that are interested. Additionally, this role is bonus eligible.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Lead an Agile software development team. Lead Scrum ceremonies. Deliver done-done features to customers at high velocity.
  • Act as a player-coach, who can mentor & coach team members into highly productive team players. Promote can-do attitude, engineering mindset and collaboration as fundamental team values.
  • Influence web application architecture and CI/CD pipeline improvements.
  • Drive continuous improvement by focusing on engineering excellence
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, Designers, and other Agile teams to deliver large initiatives. Develop roadmap
  • Work with recruiting to identify, hire and onboard top industry talent
  • Develop and maintain an in-depth working knowledge of the CRE Industry and CoStar's business model / technology
  • Continually evaluate emerging technologies to identify opportunities, trends and best practices that can be used to strengthen CoStar's technology platform and development practices
  • Adopt an owner-operator mindset and demonstrate full ownership of the product and technical platforms.
  • Act as "Voice of the Customer" when participating in product readiness reviews

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 7+ years of relevant work experience
  • 3+ years of experience leading Agile Team(s)
  • 3+ years' experience in modern web and database technologies
  • 3+ years' experience building large distributed, API-driven systems
  • Demonstrated experience with Functional, OOP and software design patterns.
  • Experience leading technical teams, working through complex requirements and offering relevant, timely technical solutions

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
  • Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks such as React, Angular, or VueJS
  • Working knowledge with NodeJS, .NET Core and C# is a plus
  • Experience with the AWS platform
  • Experience with non-relational databases such as DynamoDB, MongoDB or ElasticSearch
  • Experience with relational databases (preferably SQL Server)
  • Experience with Docker and container orchestration
