Description We are looking for an Accountant to join our team in Fort Myers, Florida. As an Accountant, you will be tasked with managing accounting functions and ensuring the accuracy of financial statements. This role offers a short-term contract employment opportunity. Responsibilities Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department including accounts payable/receivable and balance sheet account Prepare and examine accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to reporting and procedural standards Use QuickBooks for various accounting functions and to maintain financial records Conduct regular reconciliations of all accounts to ensure their accuracy Apply job costing methods to allocate costs to different business units Develop, implement, and maintain budgets for various departments or business units Ensure that all transactions, debits, and credits have been recorded correctly in the company's ledger Provide internal teams with up-to-date financial information to guide decision making Continuously improve systems and procedures and initiate corrective actions when necessary Stay updated with industry trends and current best practices in accounting. Requirements Proficiency in accounting functions including AP, AR, and balance sheet account management Strong knowledge and experience with QuickBooks Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) preferred Strong analytical skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently and as part of a team Excellent verbal and written communication skills Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments Proven ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure Familiarity with financial regulations and standards Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel Experience with financial reporting and financial data analysis Strong ethical standards and high levels of integrity Knowledge of current financial trends and updates in the accounting industry Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
