Description We are on the lookout for an Accounting Manager to join a firm in Deland, FL. The primary function of this role lies in the financial industry, focusing on the management and optimization of budget policies, grant administration, and capital improvement projects. This role is an exciting opportunity that offers a chance for the right candidate to take on a variety of responsibilities and tasks.Responsibilities: Develop and interpret directives, regulations, and procedures to implement budget policies and practices. Manage the grant administration process, ensuring the propriety and cost-effectiveness of funding requests and expenditures. Oversee capital improvement financing projects, providing long-range cost estimates and advising on effective and efficient means for the acquisition and use of funds. Gather, extract, review, verify, and consolidate a variety of narrative information and statistical data needed in the formulation and presentation of budget recommendations. Advise on the allocation of resources through budgeting processes, on program efficiency and effectiveness, and on other management and policy matters. Administer the annual operating and capital budgets, and recommend budgetary adjustments to support unanticipated changes in program operations and/or funding. Direct and supervise subordinate professional and clerical personnel, ensuring that positions within the various service centers/groups and activities are properly funded. Initiate, direct, and participate in a variety of management studies including agency operation programs efficiency and effectiveness. Attend work on a regular and consistent basis, responding to emergency situations as necessary. Adhere to Federal, State, County, and Local ordinances, performing other duties as assigned. Analyze and compare objectives, programs, and activities in order to recommend levels of funding and/or alternative methods of financing programs and operations.Requirements Possession of a bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance roles. Demonstrated proficiency in Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) standards. Experience with government grants and their accounting procedures. Proven ability to prepare month-end financial reports and year-end financial statements. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail. Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make data-driven decisions. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Proficiency in the use of accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite. Demonstrated ability to supervise and guide a team of accountants.
