What you will do: This is professional accounting work involving the independent application of accounting and auditing concepts. This position is located in a Fiscal Office environment. This position is responsible for various accounting duties which may include but not limited to various accounting payable invoice processing functions, tracking, reporting, reconciling, and processing various type invoices in FLAIR and MFMP. How you will make an impact:
Processing vendor invoices to clients and vendors.
Answering calls from vendors and internal staff regarding payment status, questions, and problems.
Researching and providing necessary documentation.
Responding to the Dept. of Financial Services (DFS) on issues.
Serving as backup to designated staff.
Required Qualifications:
Three years of professional experience in accounting, fiscal and/or financial management areas .
Experience using Microsoft Office Suite
Accounts payable experience .
Successful completion of a Level 2 Criminal Background Screening.
A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with a major in accounting or related field and three years of professional accounting experience which must have included experience processing invoices in FLAIR , MyFloridaMarketPlace . NOTE: Professional or non professional accounting experience or any combination of this experience and up to 60 semester or 90 quarter hours of college education provided such education includes two courses in accounting can substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required bachelor's degree; or
Three years of professional accounting experience with the State of Florida which must have included experience processing invoices in FLAIR, MyFloridaMarketPlace; or
A master's degree from an accredited college or university in accounting or possession of a Certified Public Accountant (C.P.A . ) certificate and two years of professional accounting experience which must have included experience processing invoices in FLAIR and MyFloridaMarketPlace.
One year of experience using Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Florida Accounting Information Resource (FLAIR) or other automated accounting software.
Three years of accounts payable experience in a governmental organization.
Knowled ge, Skills and Abilities:
Skill in independently analyzing and solving payment discrepancies.
Ability to determine work priorities and ensure proper and timely completion of work assignments.
Ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner both verbally and in writing.
Ability to work independently.
Skill in collecting and organizing data.
