Your Specific Responsibilities: The Environmental Public Health Division focuses on minimizing or eliminating risk factors in the human environment where life and health are threatened. These programs seek to do this through public education, licensing, inspection, investigations, and enforcement of public health laws. The main categories for our programs are Community Health Programs, Facility Programs, Inspections, Pollutant Storage Tanks, and Water & On-Site Sewage. This position will provide administrative/clerical support to the Environmental Public Health Division including, but not limited to, maintaining program calendars such as Conference Room scheduling and Leave calendars; meeting minutes; maintaining division phone list; processing incoming mail and faxes.; and purchasing. Division Support includes accepting and processing permitting application for facility associated with Environmental Public Health programs. Prints and distributes permits. Process and/or prepares documents, reports, correspondence and invoices. Coordinates work activities with other support staff to maintain efficient and responsive division operations. Provides comprehensive program support by assisting staff and clients with paperwork and follow-through to completion of permitting process. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of office procedures and practices. Ability to work independently. Skill in data entry. Ability to organize files and other records. Ability to use correct spelling, punctuation and grammar. Ability to operate general office equipment. Ability to deal with the public in a courteous and effective manner. Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments. Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. Access to reliable transportation on a daily basis.
