Description We are seeking an Assistant Controller based in Pompano Beach, Florida. In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks including processing transactions, maintaining financial records, and managing customer inquiries. This position offers a contract to hire employment opportunity.Responsibilities: Accurately process and record customer credit applications Maintain and update customer credit records Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate actions when necessary Access and manage bank information to update Dashboard Reports for all companies Prepare, enter, and post all journal entries to General Ledger for all companies Reconcile bank totals with Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable (AP) transactions Prepare Daily Dashboard Reports and distribute them among the necessary departments Work on month end tasks as time allows Reconcile inventory records with general ledger accounts and record end of month inventory adjustment entries Prepare and reconcile system generated purchase reports to general ledger accounts Conduct bank account reconciliations – Operating, Payroll, and Money Market for all companies Prepare and book Journal Entry for accruals of Outside Sales Commission and Rebates Prepare Sales Tax Reports, reconcile to General Ledger, and file all companies reports by the due date Use Accounting Software Systems, ADP - Financial Services, Concur, Crystal Reports, DCAA, and other relevant tools to perform duties Provide support in other areas as needed, including check search, stop payments, etc. Please note that this job description does not include all possible tasks and responsibilities and is subject to change. Requirements Must possess a minimum of 10 years of experience in a similar role Proficient in Accounting Software Systems Experience with ADP - Financial Services is required Knowledge of Concur and Crystal Reports is essential Familiarity with DCAA regulations Ability to perform Accounting Functions, including Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR) Proficiency in Auditing, Billing Functions, and Intercompany Accounting Experience with Month End Close, Cash Management, General Ledger, and Account Reconciliation Ability to perform Bank Reconciliations and Inventory Accounting Knowledge of Covenants and Workers Compensation Experience with Year End Closings and Property Tax Proficiency in using Sage 100 software Capable of managing and overseeing all aspects of the accounting department Excellent communication and leadership skills Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field Professional certification (e.g. CPA) is preferred Strong analytical and decision-making skills Keen attention to detail and accuracy Ability to work under strict deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously Proactive and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
