CORE JOB SUMMARY The Assistant Director, Programs administers program resources to fulfill the program’s mission in accordance with priorities, and time and budget requirements. Moreover, the incumbent performs work of an administrative, managerial, and professional nature. The Assistant Director, Programs also provides leadership for developing, implementing, and evaluating strategic plans to meet institutional goals related to the assigned program(s).CORE JOB FUNCTIONS

Provides leadership for developing, implementing and evaluating strategic plans to meet institutional goals related to the program(s).

Creates and updates training materials for staff, faculty, and outside offices.

Manages and oversees the coordination of current students programming, including activities outside the school, special events, and networking events.

Supervises department personnel, including student employees, and ensures that staff is trained, developed, and empowered to effectively to do their jobs.

Plans, monitors, and analyzes program budget including monthly projections and trends.

Manages all aspects of the program(s) logistics and operations including program development.

Manages processes for registration and advising.

Manages all formal documentation for matters involving accreditation, curriculum, and programs, including quality control through the graduation clearance process.

Assists and advises students in their overall goal development and achievement.

Coordinates course offerings and general direction of the program with key faculty, department chairs, and deans.

Coordinates and assists faculty in developing and implementing program satisfaction assessment plans, assessment methods, and instruments.

Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures. Ensures employees are trained on controls within the function and on University policy and procedures.

Work with the Testing and Evaluation unit to facilitate the deployment of faculty evaluation reports for graduate business programs.

Support Scheduling in overseeing operations, classroom utilization and resource allocation for the Business School’s graduate courses.

Knowledge of business and management principles.

Ability to direct, manage, implement, and evaluate department operations.

Ability to establish department goals, and objectives that support the strategic plan.

Ability to effectively plan, delegate and/or supervise the work of others.

Ability to lead, motivate, develop, and train others.
