1099 Attorney

Job Title: Contract Attorney (1099) – Community Association Law

Job Type: Independent Contractor (1099)

Location: Remote/Hybrid (South Florida-based preferred)

Practice Area: Condominium and Homeowners’ Association Law

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Contract Attorney to assist with overflow legal work related to Condominium and Homeowners’ Association matters. This is a 1099 position with flexible hours and the potential for long-term collaboration. The ideal candidate has a solid legal foundation, strong communication skills (Spanish and English), and an interest in community association law. Prior experience in this field is a plus but not required – we will provide training and mentorship.

Key Responsibilities:

Draft and review contracts, amendments, opinion letters, and compliance documents for community associations

Handle litigation matters, including pleadings, motions, and court appearances as needed The Hourly rate will be paid at a higher rate for any court appearances.

Attend Board of Directors meetings (virtually or in person) and provide legal guidance on governance, elections, enforcement, and statutory compliance

Conduct legal research and provide timely legal opinions on FS 718 and FS 720 issues

Assist with collections, covenant enforcement, and dispute resolution

Communicate with clients, management companies, and opposing counsel professionally and effectively
