AWS Cloud Engineer (
Job Number: 2223651 ) Systems Engineers implement, support, maintain, and manage IT services, including networking, IT security, and disaster recovery. Systems Engineers provide advanced technical support for desktop, server, and networking issues. Systems Engineers ensure all IT services are properly maintained and upgraded, including anti-virus, backups, imaging, and patching. Systems Engineers provide subject matter expertise for both hardware and software. As a Penske Cloud Systems Engineer, you own the building and operating of our Cloud and Linux based systems maintained by Penske Truck Leasing's IT Delivery Services. Providing technical direction to IT support staff, you will be responsible for system implementation, improvement and documentation, as well as disaster recovery in relation to the Cloud environment. In this role you will also be responsible for full lifecycle project planning and management. This position can sit out of our corporate headquarters in Reading, PA or our IT Center in Tampa, FL. Penske Responsibilities:- Monitor existing systems to ensure structural integrity
- Install and configure operating systems and other software and routinely test installed software for issues, such as glitch detection
- Manage and monitor all installed systems and infrastructure to be in line with company guidelines
- Install, configure, and test operating systems, application software, and system management tools
- Ensure the highest level of systems and infrastructure availability
- Complete disaster recovery planning and documentation for the cloud environment
- Provide 7x24x365 support for the PTL cloud environment
- Determine and implement automated process scripts using Ansible and Python
- Maintain automated monitoring and alerting processes for the Cloud environment
- Coordinate system changes and deploys within other IT groups
- Install, patch and maintain Linux systems, middleware for web systems, and the Single Sign on Environment in the cloud
- Make recommendations on rollbacks and system repair methods/priorities
- Associate's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Engineering or related field preferred. If no degree, then at least 3 years of specific (function) administration experience required
- 3 years of system engineering and IT support required
- 1 years of AWS engineering required, including hands on experience with VPCs, Availability Zones, Security Groups, ELB/ALB, etc.
- 3 years' experience with Linux / Middleware skills in AWS required. This could include open source and purchased middleware products such as webservers, application servers, database servers, API management gateways, single-sign-on software, identity management software, ETL software, collaboration software, etc.
- 1-2 years of project leadership required (including mid-to-large scale projects, and managing multiple projects at one time)
- Experience in performance tuning, performance problem resolution and managing web hosting partners is required
- Experience creating automated scripts using Ansible and Python preferred
- Knowledge of enterprise networks and structure
- Experience in the following concepts:

- IT Security best practices
- Database technologies such as Gemfire, Greenplum and MySQ
