We are a family owned and operated donut business specializing in scratch-made yeast and cake donuts! We are looking for a dependable and creative baker’s assistant to provide high-quality donuts and services in an efficient, professional manner. An understanding of recipes, performing quality checks on ingredients and finished products, use of frostings, glazes, fillings, and other toppings to enhance item presentation, and process orders for customers is a must.

As a baker’s assistant, you will make dough, various glazes and toppings, greet customers, answer questions, clean workstations, and equipment, and perform other duties as needed.
To be a successful baker’s assistant, you should be efficient, friendly, focused on food quality and customer satisfaction, be decisive, attentive, and have a strong work ethic.

Duties

Decorate donuts with attention to detail, ensuring an appealing presentation and displaying the finished product

Responsible for finishing the required quantity of each variety

Set up donut case to brand standards

Read and understand recipes

Measure and combine ingredients using mixers, blenders, heat sources, and other equipment

Test ingredients and finished goods to ensure that each item meets food safety and quality controls

Brew all hot coffee

Ensure all equipment is clean and sanitary

Provide excellent customer service by engaging with customers, taking special orders, and addressing inquiries about baked products

Monitor inventory levels of baking supplies and ingredients, placing orders with owner as necessary to ensure adequate stock

Requirements

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high-quality standards

Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail

Strong communication skills and a customer-focused attitude

Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays

Ability to stand on feet for extended periods of time

Repetitive motion, including bending, stooping and reaching

Ability to lift items, including boxes, baskets and pails up to 50 lbs.
