This is a full-time position that works with the Director’s office and the Office of Criminal Justice Grants, coordinating procurement activities, records management and telephone coverage. This position requires the ability to work to do research, collect data, and work independently. Additionally, this position requires excellent facilitation and customer service skills. DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Specific duties include:

Maintaining office supplies for the Office of Criminal Justice Grants and the BSP Director’s office;

Purchasing supplies and other routine items as needed for the division using a department purchasing card;

Assisting with vendor selection and pricing research for purchases;

Assisting in the preparation for internal and external trainings;

Answering incoming phone calls for the bureau daily from 8:00am until 5:00pm and coordinate phone coverage when not available;

Coordinating and review all paperwork associated with federal and subgrant files; and

Processing grant files for archive or destruction according to State of Florida records retention laws and agency policy.

To be considered as a potential candidate, you must meet the minimum qualifications(s) listed below. Degrees must be from an accredited college or university as recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A high school diploma or its equivalent and one year of administrative or office experience;

30 semester hours or equivalent, of coursework from an accredited college or university; or

Any combination of education or experience, as described above, for a total of one year.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Knowledge of administrative principles, office procedures and practices;

Knowledge of computer applications to support various administrative functions;

Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data relating to administrative functions such as accounting, personnel, purchasing or report writing;

Ability to prepare correspondence and administrative reports;

Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures;

Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques;

Ability to work independently and communicate effectively;

Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments; and

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

BASE SALARY:

$40,000.00

NOTES:

Starting salary will be at the minimum of the class pay range, unless otherwise dictated by FDLE's pay policy. The elements of this selection process may include a work sample and/or interview. Future vacancies may be filled from this position advertisement.
