Pay: $75,000 – $150,000 (based on experience)

About the Role

Well Bilt Industries is growing and seeking a Controls Engineer / Electronic Controls Specialist to support automation projects and advanced door control systems. This hands-on role involves designing, programming, and maintaining PLCs, VFDs, and microcontroller-based systems. The right candidate will be detail-oriented, self-driven, and willing to travel occasionally for installations or support.

Key Responsibilities

- Design, build, and troubleshoot control panels and industrial automation systems

- Program and maintain PLCs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, etc.) and HMIs

- Wire electric motors (110v, 230v, 480v – single and three-phase)

- Integrate sensors, VFDs, limit switches, and actuators into control systems

- Commission, test, and validate system performance and compliance

- Maintain electrical schematics and support technical documentation

- Provide technical support to internal teams and clients

- Perform general plant electrical maintenance as needed

- Travel occasionally for field work, installation, or system commissioning

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Controls Engineering; or equivalent experience

- Proven experience with PLCs, VFDs, automation systems, and motor control

- Proficiency in ladder logic, structured text, or embedded C/C

- Strong understanding of industrial protocols (Modbus, Ethernet/IP, CAN bus, etc.)

- Ability to read schematics, P&IDs, and engineering drawings

- Strong troubleshooting and communication skills

- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel occasionally

- Must pass background check and drug test

Preferred Certifications

- Florida Journeyman or Master Electrician license

- OSHA 10/30 Certification, NFPA 70E safety training

- PLC/HMI vendor certifications (Rockwell, Siemens, etc.)
