TCI has an immediate need for a

Data Communications Operations Manager in Melbourne FL. This is not a C2C opportunity. This is a contract-to-hire role.

NOTE: This position requires ship and a Public Trust Security Clearance prior to start.

SUMMARY The Data Communications Ops Manager will support a large nationwide customer and is responsible for producing metric reporting. The primary focus of the candidate will be to analyze Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and reduce credits owed to the FAA. The candidate will be responsible for providing daily, monthly, and ad-hoc Network Operations metrics, for management and operational center for awareness and process improvements. This position provides direct leadership, management, and direction to a team of maintenance and metrics personnel, Tier 2 Engineers, as well as handle special projects.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Supervision and oversight on a team of maintenance and metrics personnel and Tier 2 Engineers with responsibility to ensure service restoration efforts comply with program Service Level Agreement (SLA) Service Availability, and Mean Time to Restore (MTTR) objectives.
  • Escalating and communicating at a high level with customers and varying levels of program management
  • Develop and report on metrics for the performance of the DCNS network.
  • Develop and maintain processes and training for specialized monitoring tools/systems.
  • Monitor and enforce NOCC goals and performance objectives.
  • Provide coaching and actionable feedback to team.
  • This position is part of a 24x7 network control environment. Shift, on call, and workday flexibility is required.

REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelors degree in Telecommunications, Engineering, Networking, Information Technology or related field with 6 years of prior related experience or 2 years post-Secondary/ Associates Degree with a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience.
  • Excellent MS Excel skills to include PivotTables, VLOOKUP, etc.
  • 4 years of experience working in a fast paced, 24x7 Network Operations Center environment.
  • 4 years of experience in a leadership or supervisory role.
  • 4 years of experience performing technical network troubleshooting.
  • 4 years of experience working with routing and switching concepts.
  • 4 years of experience interfacing with external customers.
  • Ability to obtain a Public Trust Security Clearance.

Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities considered
  • Knowledge and understanding of the FAAs National Airspace System, telecommunications technologies, and operations and maintenance policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle face-to-face customer engagements and high-pressure situations.
  • Familiarity with the Data Comm program.
  • Experience with Radio Frequency (RF) technologies and concepts.
  • Experience with Remedy Ticketing Systems.
  • CCNA Certification.
  • ITILv4 Certification.
