Job Profile Summary: CAI is hiring!We are in immediate need of a Data Solutions Engineer. This is a 5-month contract to hire role which requires the Engineer to be onsite in Miramar, FL.

Due to our end client, candidates must be eligible to work in the US without a need for sponsorship now or in the future. The primary focus of this role will be to assist with an environmental strategy, roll out and delivering results. The Data Solutions Engineer is responsible for building, managing, and optimizing reusable enterprise data pipelines effectively and in a timely manner through the development lifecycle to be used by internal consumers, such as business/data analysts and data scientists. The engineer would use both technical and analytical skills to understand and solve business problems using available resources and current technology stack, while ensuring data governance and data security compliance.

Qualifications

Education/Experience
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent
  • 3+ years of experience in a data/cloud engineering role
  • 3+ years of experience working and creating datasets for a data warehouse
  • 3+ years of experience with ETL development tools, such as Informatica, Talend or Azure Data Factory (ADF)
  • 3+ years of cloud experience, Azure preferred

Skills Required:
  • Working knowledge and experience in using best practices in designing, building and managing data pipelines that require data transformations as well as metadata and workload management
  • Working knowledge and experience in working with large, heterogeneous datasets in building and optimizing data pipelines, pipeline architectures and integrated datasets using traditional and new data integration technologies (such as ETL, ELT, data replication, change data captures, message-oriented data movement, API design, stream data integration and data virtualization)
  • Working knowledge and experience in performing root cause analysis on internal and external data and processes to identify issues and opportunities for improvement
  • Clear understanding of data modeling patterns (relational and dimensional)
  • Working knowledge and experience with programming languages including SQL, PL/SQL, T-SQL
  • Experience with relational SQL databases such as Oracle and SQL Server
  • Experience supporting and working with cross-functional teams in a dynamic environment
  • Proven ability to collaborate with technical peers

Skills Preferred:
  • Working knowledge with Food & Beverage industry
  • Experience with NoSQL databases are a plus
  • Working knowledge and hands on experience with Python, Scala, Spark, and scripting languages
  • Working knowledge of relational and dimensional data modeling patterns.
  • Adept in agile delivery
  • Capable of applying DevOps principles to data pipelines to improve the communication, integration, reuse and automation
  • Knowledge about BI tools preferred.
  • Experience with Cruise/Travel industry preferred.

Physical Demands:
  • Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state and local standards
  • Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.
  • Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard and monitor
