- Conduct digital financial fraud and identity theft investigations
- Identify source of system breach and system security failures
- Recover and examine data from computers and electronic storage devices
- Apply sound methodologies to collect, preserve, and analyze digital evidence
- Dismantle and rebuild damaged systems to retrieve lost data
- Identify additional systems/networks compromised by cyber attacks
- Applies emerging technologies, software and methodologies to reduce risk of exposure to GSI, customers and third parties
- Stay proficient in forensic, response and reverse engineering skills
- Managed external investigations partners where necessary
- Work with IT Security team and external law enforcement, as necessary, to conduct cyber investigations
- Prepare written professional investigative reports, policies and procedures
- Understanding of digital forensic principles, methodologies and techniques, including experience identifying and adopting appropriate digital forensic tools
- Exhibit willingness to learn, a desire to collaborate with others, and the drive to take on additional responsibilities when called upon
- 3+ years of experience as cyber security analyst/investigator with emphasis on financial fraud detection required
- 5+ years of experience in a combination of information security and IT infrastructure/operations
- Possess relevant cyber fraud examiner certifications
- Hands-on technical security experience across multiple domains of security
- Experience in configuration/management of feeds into event aggregation and correlation systems (i.e. Splunk, Hadoop)
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation, and negotiation.
- Excellent written, verbal, communication, and presentation skills.
- Security certification/accreditation including, CFE, CISM, CISSP, and GIAC are highly desired.
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, computer engineering, electrical engineering, system analysis or related field of study, or equivalent experience.
- 3 years of software development experience in one or more of the following core languages: Ruby on Rails, Python, Java, Javascript, C#, and .NET.
- A strong knowledge of web related technologies (Web applications, Web Services and Service Oriented Architectures) and of network/web related protocols.
- Understanding of common vulnerabilities in web and mobile applications
- Facilitate security remediation of applications with security flaws and code defects with Application Leads, and Development teams.
- Experience working on an external consumer facing product
- Experience in banking or financial services desired
- Experience with penetration skills and being able to identify vulnerabilities within the application.
- Other duties and special projects as assigned.
- Three years hands on experience in one or more of the following Operating Systems: Windows Server 2008/2012R2, Linux and UNIX.
- SQL Server knowledge is a plus
- Three years practical experience in TCP/IP Networking.
- Knowledge in Enterprise level Risk Assessment and Business Impact Analysis.
- OSCP, CEH, GIAC related certifications is a plus
- Maturity, judgment, negotiation/influence skills, analytical skills, and leadership skills.
- May also be assigned various projects and tasks as needed.
- Undergraduate Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or related field.
