This position will support one of the of the Nation's top Diabetes and Renal programs accredited by the American Diabetes Association at Memorial Regional Hospital. Opportunity to operationalize new technology, lead a specialized team, and lead efforts for additional accreditation affiliations to grow the program. ;;
Summary:The Director of Nursing for the Diabetes Care Program and Renal Disease Management will oversee all activities of both the inpatient and outpatient diabetes programs in addition to the inpatient renal transplant program and hemodialysis unit of Memorial Regional Hospital.

Detailed responsibilities: Develop/implement a comprehensive and structured diabetes care program based on evidence-based medicine working within an interdisciplinary team framework. Develop clinical care protocols, facilitate a software based diabetes management application, and achieve/sustain the Joint Commission Advanced Inpatient Diabetes disease-specific certification. Assess, plan, direct, and supervise activities, programs and projects in diabetes and renal care which achieve departmental goals, maintain delivery of quality care outcomes and promotes professional standards in accordance with organizational policies and procedures. Responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance with regulatory standards, state/federal regulations and compliance with disease-management clinical guidelines. Responsible for planning and monitoring staffing activities including hiring, evaluating clinical competencies, developing training and on-boarding content and continuing education activities. Responsible for evaluating/analyzing all programmatic quality and performance improvement metrics, driving accountability for performance objectives.

Other information:Complexity of Work: This role requires critical thinking skills, effective communication, decisive judgment, and the ability to build and foster positive relationships. The incumbent must be able to lead others and take appropriate action when required.Required Work Experience: Two (2) years in a Hospital Leadership position.Certified at time of hire or within six (6) months of hire in diabetes education (CDE).
