Our client based in Tampa, FL is seeking a Director of IT Network and Security Operations. The individual will be under the direction of the Senior IT Executive providing overall direction and leadership to the operational activities of the Network Operations Center and the Security Operations Center. Primary responsibilities include managing the network infrastructure, servers, and cloud resources; coordination of change management activities; incident resolution; command and coordination during major service interruptions; ensuring notifications and updates; support to engineers; on-going monitoring and logging consolidation; and completing detailed reviews for major network outages. This position is heavily involved in the technically complex management of the cloud services (IaasS, DaaS, Microsoft 365 tenants, etc.) acceptance of new hardware (virtual or physical) and software through the change management process. The ideal candidate will have solid management skills and a track record for leading small teams and managed service providers in a highly technical, process-driven environment. This is a highly visible and critical role, supporting the executive team, and regional operations. The Director of IT Network and Security Operations must provide a high-level of service to all stakeholders. Working closely with the Senior IT Executive, the Director of IT Network and Security Operations will lead our efforts in the management of IT infrastructure and security. Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the Network Operations Center whose responsibilities include patch management, monitoring, alerting and escalations, and documentation of systems including infrastructure and applications in our private and public clouds.
  • Partner with the CISO to provide day-to-day management and strategic direction Security Operations Center. Manage and direct all SOC personnel.
  • Develop key dashboards for transparency of reporting uptime and other metrics as identified.
  • Work with our technical project managers to seamlessly integrate new partners into our services offerings.
  • Work with internal teams to expand security solutions such as SIEM, vulnerability testing, etc.
  • Identify and review potential new services that can be added to our service offerings and management toolset.
  • Implement processes for monitoring / alerting, systems maintenance and change control, and automation opportunities.
  • Ensure that up-to-date technical documentation exists for all services provided to our teams and take ownership for reporting.
  • Identify the root cause of severe network infrastructure issues in order to plan for future prevention and service improvements.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • 7+ years of IT experience, including at least 4-5 years of experience supervising staff.
  • Working knowledge of public clouds- AWS and Azure.
  • Working understanding of Microsoft Server and virtualization technologies.
  • Server OS knowledge.
  • Desktop OS knowledge.
  • Mobile OS knowledge.
  • Experience with monitoring and patch management systems.
  • Knowledge of backup systems.
  • Knowledge and understand of a wide variety of security technologies and processes, including but not limited to Network Infrastructure, Data Protection, Endpoint Security, Application Security, Enterprise Logging, Incident Response and Forensics.
  • Experience with Mobile Device Management (iOS).
  • Familiarity with firewalls, switches, and networking concepts.
  • Must have demonstrated project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to interact with and effectively present information to employees, management, and customers.
  • Must be willing to work rotating shifts with overtime required.
  • Proven experience with all aspects of incident management lifecycle (logging, categorization, resolution, monitor, escalation, closure, SOP / documentation update).
  • Demonstrated ability to document processes.
  • Prior experience in working in a 24x7x365 Network Operations Center.
  • Strong leadership skills.
  • Team player at executive levels to collaborate with business groups and functional partners like IT, finance, HR, legal, etc.
  • Excellent operational management and general business skills.
  • Excellent communication and listening skills that allows the "voice of the customer" to understand the company's culture.
  • Understanding of standard contractual terms and conditions to mitigate legal risk.
  • Strategic mindset and problem-solving skills.
  • Change management skills and self-awareness to take varying approaches with a dynamic set of stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of delivering savings and other value via a strong team of professionals in the procurement department.

Certifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in engineering, computer science, information systems, or similar or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Microsoft and AWS certifications (i.e. MCP - Architecting Microsoft Azure Solutions, AWS Solutions Architect).
  • CISSP, CISA, or Master's in cyber security is a plus.
