Documentation Specialist/Technical Writer Position Description We are seeking a Documentation Specialist/Technical Writer to join our team. The selected candidate will work a hybrid schedule consisting of two (2) days each week onsite in Tallahassee, FL and three (3) days each week remotely. Summary The Documentation Specialist/Technical Writer is responsible for the creation and maintenance of Functional documentation related to the Department s Identity Administration and Governance (IAG) system, SailPoint IdentityIQ. This individual will be required to work with both the Technical and Functional Teams of the IAG project and is responsible for the development and modification of various functional documents and media. Education

  • Bachelor s Degree in Journalism, Technical Writing, Business Administration, or other related fields. Or equivalent work experience.
Experience
  • Typically has 3 to 5 years of business or technical writing experience and working knowledge of multiple software and graphics packages.
Primary Job Duties/ Tasks The selected candidate must be able to perform the following duties and/or tasks:
  • Translates technical and/or complicated information into clear, concise documents appropriate for various target audiences.
  • Interviews subject matter experts and technical staff to collect information, prepare written text, and coordinate layout and material organization.
  • Works with the Functional Team, to produce a wide variety of technical and functional publications to support the upcoming SailPoint IdentityIQ deployment.
  • Research information such as existing Policies, Procedures, Methods and Practices to identify and draft potential changes to accommodate the new SailPoint IdentityIQ system.

  • Knowledge of translating technical information into functional documentation for training and communicating change to the business offices.
  • Knowledge of document templates, such as standardized templates for Departmental Policies, Procedures, and Methods and Practices.
  • Must have the skills to gather and analyze technical and product information from various sources to document new or changing product functionality.
  • Must have strong organizational and project management skills and excellent writing and editing skills.
  • Ability to write, format, edit, review, and proof procedural and technical information for technical and non-technical users.
  • Ability to display professionalism in dealing with all levels of management and staff.
