Fabricate wire harnesses.

Prepare wires for assembly by measuring, cutting, stripping, tinning, and attaching contacts, lugs, and other terminal devices using hand tools, power tools, pneumatic tools, and soldering equipment.

Use automated equipment or bench-mounted devices to cut, strip bend or crimp wires. Routes wires using jig boards and various wire assembly equipment.

Install wiring harnesses, and electrical and electronic components in units such as instrument panels, power panels, relay panels, and main control switch panels according to specifications.

Read drawings, wire lists, and work instructions to determine materials needed, order of operation, and positioning of components and wires for various assembly jobs.

Perform inspection to ensure parts and assemblies meet production specifications and are free from defects.

Maintain assigned workplace, materials, and equipment in a safe, secure, and neat condition.

Work cooperatively and constructively with subordinates, peers, supervisors, vendors, customers, and the general public, to promote and achieve the most cost-effective and ethical goals of the company.

Become familiar with and comply with CMS Standard Operating Procedures, Personnel Policies and Procedures, Affirmative Action Plan, and the systems, procedures, and equipment applicable to the incumbent's work assignment.

Bring to the attention to supervisor of any incidents, conditions and/or other matters that may inhibit the cost-effective and ethical performance of the incumbent's work assignment or which could adversely affect the Company's business and/or reputation.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.

Minimum one (1) year of related work experience, preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Must have accomplished and exceeded all qualifications of an Electronic Assembler I.

Possess personal common hand tools (screwdrivers, pliers, cutters, wrenches, etc.).

Possesses the ability to become familiar with and capable of using the following equipment and tools:

Soldering and de-soldering equipment.

Common hand tools (screwdrivers, pliers, cutters, wrenches, etc.).

Common power tools.

Common pneumatic tools.

Mil-Spec and commercial crimpers and strippers; to include manual, electric, and pneumatic. Also including automatic processing equipment.

Pneumatic lead formers and trimmers.

Continuity test equipment (ohm meter).

Knowledge of use and maintenance of common hand tools listed below.

Knowledge of soldering and wire preparation preferred.

Knowledge of drawings and blueprints preferred.

Knowledge of hardware (screws, nuts, bolts, washers, etc.).

Ability to become company certified for assembly specifications.

Ability to use common measurement tools i.e., tape measure.

Ability to complete the J-STD-001 Certified IPC Specialist training course.

Ability to adapt to new shop equipment "as needed".

Ability to communicate effectively with managers, customers, and employees, in both the spoken and written English language.

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
