The Directory Services Engineer will be a key member of the new Versant Cyber organization. This individual is responsible for managing and maintaining directory platforms such as Microsoft Active Directory, Azure AD, and LDAP-based directories.  They are expected to ensure high availability, replication integrity, and optimal performance of the directory services and monitor directory health, logs, and event activity to proactively identify and remediate issues.  This individual is a leader over the directory services discipline and will interact with various key stakeholders within the Cyber organization to drive relationship management across the Versant business areas. RESPONSIBILITIES: Key areas of focus for the Directory Services Engineer include ensuring global uptime, monitoring, and failover of directory services, seamlessly connecting directory services with identity and business systems, and enforcing secure protocols, admin separation, and access tiering.  The successful candidate will be responsible for the following activities: Design, configure, and maintain enterprise directory platforms including Active Directory, Entra ID, and LDAP, ensuring secure, scalable, and highly available environments. Manage directory object lifecycle operations, including user, group, and service account provisioning, deprovisioning, and synchronization across hybrid and multi-cloud ecosystems. Promote, foster, and advocate for an environment of collaboration, diversity, and inclusion.  Implement and support secure directory architecture, including forest/domain design, OU structures, delegated administration, and replication topology. Implement context-aware authentication flows that respond dynamically to user behavior, device posture, geolocation, and risk signals. Consult on complex enterprise-wide security assessments and engagements to help engineers see the big picture and incorporate enterprise technology direction into security roadmaps.  Collaborate with identity, authentication, and infrastructure teams to integrate directory services with authentication platforms, HRIS systems, and enterprise applications. Support Group Policy development and enforcement, ensuring security baselines, device posture controls, and login behaviors are consistently applied. Contribute to enterprise-wide identity modernization initiatives, including directory consolidation, hybrid identity, and cloud-native directory strategies. Must be available to work during core hours of 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM Eastern Time (ET), with additional flexibility required for meetings and team collaboration as needed.
