Description: Job Title: Engineering Technician – Test Set Assembly Job Code: SAS20212411-73308 Job Location: Palm Bay, FL Job Description: This position is for a technician with a test and assembly background who will support the build and assembly of our test stations and test fixturing. The technician will follow engineering drawings and support build documentation to properly assembly the hardware. The technician will work with engineering oversight to resolve assembly issues, as well as work with quality control personnel to support the formal closeout of build paperwork and documentation of the assembly configuration. The technician may support automated testing of products after all test station and hardware build operations are complete. The ability to handle fragile hardware, high density connections and RF connections is a must. Essential Functions: Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings or schematics to perform work duties.
Work under direct supervision using a prescribed set of processes and procedures.
Work directly with engineers optimizing assembly processes and procedures.
Lean, continuous improvement mindset.
Be a team player, pro-active, and customer oriented with a sense of urgency to accomplish a given task or goal.
Installation of test equipment into test racks.
Mechanical assembly of test fixturing.
Assembly and wiring of test adapters and cabling.
Validation of assembled test stations.
Troubleshooting electrical equipment with engineering oversight.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma and 4+ years relevant professional experience required, OR, Associates degree and 2+ years of relevant professional experience.
Experience assembling and troubleshooting electro-mechanical assemblies.
Experience interpreting drawings and schematics.
Good computer skills (Microsoft Windows and Office).
Preferred Additional Skills:
Clearance not required but is a plus
Experience in test and measurement.
Familiarity with PXI and/or Virginia Panel hardware.
