Join our world-class team today!Position Specific DescriptionThis position will be responsible for external affairs in South Broward county, including government and community relations at the county and municipal levels. Responsibility also includes emergency response support of the county’s Emergency Operations Center.Job OverviewThis position provides the strategic groundwork for the successful implementation of company policies, initiatives, and objectives (expansion, development, etc.) by raising awareness, educating, and providing advocacy on behalf of the company to the local and county government, business stakeholders and general communities through the coordination of the internal and external customers.This job will increase company external visibility and credibility by managing external business and community stakeholders, serving in leadership roles in external organizations, both locally and at the state level, including but not limited to quasi-governmental organizations such as water management districts, league of cities and league of counties, chamber of commerce, Economic Development Office and Business Development Board and United Way boards and United Way external fundraising campaigns.Job Duties & Responsibilities

Lobbies, researches, analyzes,and advocates for company positions on pending local and state agenda items

Researches and compiles information to present to elected officials and business and community leaders

Participates in business and non-profit board memberships with a leadership role

Leads a cross-functional team to solve cross-functional problems and to build consensus

Supports storm preparation in assigned territories

Creates opportunities for company executive presentations, key meet and greets

Manages territories that are more strategic and complex as it relates to external stakeholders. Employee should have existing relationship and/or knowledge of the territory and stakeholders

Performs other job-related duties as assigned

Bachelor's Degree

Experience: 8+ years

Preferred Qualifications

Master's Degree

Experience: 10+years
