This role offers an exciting opportunity to provide family stabilization services to referred at-risk families to prevent the removal of the child or children. This is a great opportunity for somebody that has excellent organizational and case management skills, and is familiar with services offered to families in Miami Dade and Monroe counties. As a Family Consultant you must have the ability to intervene in family and crisis situations and be an advocate in dealing with the schools, medical and legal systems. Specific responsibilities may also include, but are not limited to, the following:
Complete a family assessment in conjunction with the family to identify the strengths and weaknesses of the family unit.
Complete case notes and weekly progress reports on each family.
Provide 24-hour emergency on-call assistance for assigned families as needed.
Attend court hearings and exercise discretion and independent judgment with respect to matters of significance to the family and provide any other additional reasonable services for prevention of maltreatment and unnecessary foster care as needed in order to strengthen a family at risk.

Skills/Requirements
Must have a Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling or related field from an accredited college or university.
Two (2) years of experience working with families and children from a prevention perspective and/or populations with special needs preferred.
Florida licensure/license eligible preferred: LCSW, LMHC, or LMFT.
Bilingual in English/Spanish or English/Creole strongly preferred.
Ability to provide direct face-to-face and/or telephone support, short-term stabilization services to families in their home.
Knowledge of community resources and human services systems is required. Experience with child welfare systems is preferred.
Must have excellent organizational and case management skills and be familiar with services offered to families in Miami Dade and Monroe. Must have the ability to intervene in family and crisis situations and be an advocate; flexibility is also required.
Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.
Must have transportation and be willing to visit clients in their home. Valid Florida Driver's License with full access to a reliable vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage (proof of insurance is required.)
