Client Location/Travel
The client lives the majority of the year in Miami, in a high-rise building in the Brickell neighborhood. In the summers he usually travels to visit family near Seattle, where he also lives in a high-rise, and near Chicago, where he lives in a house. He is currently planning some travel to South America to see friends in early 2026 and would like for you to join him.
Team Approach & Asana
The client has a team supporting him, consisting of the following:
In-Person Assistant (IPA) Team for daily care needs
Virtual Assistant (VA) Team for various personal/professional tasks
Family & Friends
The IPA Team, VA Team, and the client's mother work together in Asana, a task management platform, and Google Calendar, to complete their responsibilities and make sure everyone is up-to-date on the information they need to know. The client believes strongly in empowering his team to be effective without his direct supervision, and it's important to him to find a companion who understands and embraces this philosophy,
Candidates must be able to pick up these tools quickly in order to communicate clearly and efficiently with the rest of the client's team to get things done. The ideal candidate will thrive with these tools, and ensure that the system is regularly updated to reflect the client's needs/preferences, so that the client's care is minimally affected by staff changes.
Client Details
The client has an underlying neuromuscular condition which caused him to need a wheelchair since the age of 15. He had a lot of physical independence when he was younger, as he was able to drive and live on his own, and unfortunately he lost a lot of that while being focused on work the past 10 years. Now in his mid-30s, he is very focused on regaining this physical independence. He exercises rigorously and weighs his food in order to meet his nutritional goals. He also enjoys going to the beach, learning, playing chess, and occasionally performing open mic comedy.
The client keeps his home fairly warm (24°C/75°F) during the day because he gets cold easily, and has 2 friendly cats. He has very weak arm/legs, so he has difficulty caring for himself, and his core balance is limited, so it's important to be very cautious when moving him so that he does not fall and injure himself (his IPA team will teach you the routines and procedures in place to prevent this). He has low bone density and is at increased risk for fractures, so preventing falls is very important.
The client speaks English & Urdu fluently, speaks Spanish with a little difficulty, and can understand Hindi & some Gujarati. He is fairly minimalist and prefers small, low-key, and quiet settings. His educational background is in computer science & economics, and he has previously worked at a large tech company. He currently works remotely in wealth management/private equity.
Having had personal care support since 2015, he is comfortable with many different types of people. His preference is for someone who is very punctual, communicates proactively, multitasks effectively (even being one step ahead of him) and is exceptionally thorough in their work (details are very important to him). He prefers that you dress clean & comfortable – athletic apparel is ideal. He has formed good friendships with many of his former caregivers/assistants, and what they have all had in common has been their ability to focus on the work at hand and complete it at a high caliber, which enables him to relax and be more interested in social conversations.
