Role: Financial Specialists (665086) Duration: 8 Months+Location: 2555 Shumard Oak Blvd, Tallahassee, FL 32399Interview Mode: In Person OnlyType: ContractStart Date: Immediate The Client needs Financial Specialists to assist with a federally declared disaster event closeout project. Excellent opportunity for those possessing the following skills are required: -2 years of accounting experience-Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel pivot tables-Keen organizational skills-Positive attitude The position will consist of the following duties: - Assist Bureau grant managers with grant closeout activities as directed
- Reconcile expenditures, quarterly reports, and insurance reviews
- Analyze and compare data for accuracy and completeness
- Creating form letters and other correspondence related to disaster closeouts
- Scanning and uploading documents into appropriate systems as directed, ensuring all records are maintained and relevant correspondence are recorded in the State’s grant management system
- Archive files according to established procedures and timelines
- Perform final inspections and validation for project closeout
- Assemble grant closeout packets for submission to the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA)
- Copying, scanning, and filing as needed
- Serve as the liaison between the Subrecipient and the Division, providing technical, fiscal, and grant management assistance to Subrecipients related to the receipt and use of federal and state emergency management funding awarded by the Division.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Skills 2+ years of basic accounting experience. Required 2 YearsDemonstrated experience with Microsoft Office, specifically Excel pivot tables. RequiredKeen organizational skills RequiredDemonstrated ability to manage all aspects of contract/grant management - preparation of funding agreements, processing of requests for reimbursment. RequiredAbility to understand, interpret, and apply relevant State and Federal laws and rules, as well as Division policies and procedures related to contract RequiredAbility to monitor grantee compliance with program requirements through review, analysis and processing of financial and program deliverables. RequiredAbility to provide technical assistance to state and local governments and other entities on contracts/grants, project closeouts, and payments. RequiredDemonstrated computer software skills, including Word, Excel, and other database/spreadsheet software, including but not limited to PowerPoint. RequiredAbility to collect, analyze, and interpret contract/grant programmatic and financial data.
