Job Summary:We are looking for multi-skilled candidates with a quantitative background for the position of GIS Developer. The GIS Developer must show: a demonstrated knowledge of geospatial concepts and conducting geospatial analyses, an understanding of Web-based mapping technologies and their applications, a demonstrated ability to communicate technical information in non-technical settings and a demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with supervisors and colleagues in a team environment.Experience with or ability to work in a fast paced, high throughput environment.

Location: Hybrid Model - Jacksonville FL

Responsibilities:
  • Perform full application life cycle development and implementation including design, analysis, coding, testing, and documentation
  • Communicate design requirements to technical and non-technical personnel
  • Participate in all phases of technology or application development including requirements gathering, estimating time and costs for phases or tasks, building, testing and implementation
  • Design database schemas
  • Conduct GIS analyses and implement GIS solutions using scripting languages
  • Make presentations to technical and non-technical management and non-management personnel using a variety of tools
  • Provide specific technical insight and recommendations to teammates as needed
  • Establish and maintain standards as required and apply industry best practice policies
  • Organize and develop application testing procedures to provide for stability and best performance
  • Provide project status reports and attend meetings as necessary

Qualifications:
  • 6 years of GIS development experience- ESRI ArcGIS, ArcGIS Server, and ArcSDE
  • Javascript- 6 years experience here as well
  • .NET (can be intermediate level- would have to be very strong in everything else)
  • Good communication skills- team player
