Job Description
The Maintenance Office is seeking Advanced-Level Maintenance Supervisors with the expertise, training, and leadership skills to oversee maintenance operations and supervise a team of up to five inmates. This position requires a high level of responsibility, including ensuring compliance with safety standards and maintaining efficient operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise up to five (5) inmates during maintenance tasks, ensuring safety, efficiency, and adherence to guidelines.
- Perform advanced maintenance tasks and provide technical expertise to the team.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Plan, delegate, and oversee daily maintenance operations to meet organizational goals.
-Drive and operate commercial vehicles with air brakes as required for maintenance activities.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment usage, and inmate performance.
- Communicate effectively with team members, management, and other departments using cell phone and other designated methods.
- Wear a uniform identifying the supervisory role and serve as the primary point of contact during maintenance operations.
Requirements
Certification: Must be a state-certified correction officer.
Experience:
Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a correction officer.
Minimum of one (1) year of experience driving a commercial vehicle.
License: Valid Class B Driver’s License with air brake endorsement.
Certification: Advanced Level Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) certification.
Physical Requirements: Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting, standing, and working in various environmental conditions.
