JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for oversight of the maintenance, preventative maintenance, and vendor contracted maintenance of all Central Energy Plants (CEP’s) at Universal Orlando. This position will oversee a CEP team that will be responsible for all chiller plant operations/maintenance as well as the associated chilled water infrastructure. They will also oversee troubleshooting and repair of all the mechanical disciplines, including but not limited: Plumbing, Electrical and HVAC systems including the oversite of the building managements systems (BMS). This person will also oversee all aspects of health and life safety, develop scopes of work, and bid requests for new projects and contract renewals, and will assist with the selection of vendors.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Direct Team Members and/or Vendors assisting with the mechanical upkeep and maintenance of the CEP facilities including HVAC, Electrical, BMS, and Plumbing systems as well as provide leadership to the CEP operations team and motivate team members to achieve a high level of productivity, encourage safe practices, accountability, and a strong team approach to daily CEP activities. Also manage the CEP staff of direct reports including scheduling, training and professional development.
  • Responsible for the manager on duty phone (899) and addressing all Facilities and Utilities calls that may impact guest and team member safety as well as park operations.
  • Manage the distribution of corrective and preventive Maximo work orders via the computerized maintenance management system. Encourage full utilization of the Maximo system by team members and utilize the database as a resource for supporting good maintenance management practices.
  • Review the CEP mechanical systems and make suggestions to improve efficiencies and potential cost savings.
  • Partner with the Technical Services Warehouse to maintain critical inventory of CEP spare parts for plant equipment and support the CEP parts inventory. Ensure quantity and value match records.
  • Develop long term asset planning (Capital Finance) and Cause of Change for in house labor requirements.
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:High school degree or GED is required. Associate degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year college or technical school is required

EXPERIENCE:5+ years combination of operation and maintenance of Industrial / Commercial Central Energy Plant (CEP) systems & components and associated auxiliary equipment is required; 3+ years supervisory experience required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Universal Refrigerant Handling EPA Certification is required; HVAC License A or B is Preferred
