Job location: 801 SunRail Dr, Sanford, FL 32771Locomotive Technician ( alternative job titles: Diesel Mechanic, Diesel Technician, Electrical Technician, Industrial Electrician, Rail Vehicle Technician, Electro-Mechanical Technician, Heavy Duty Mechanic, Railcar Repairman, Locomotive Mechanic ):

Inspect, troubleshoot, service and repair malfunctions in engines, air brake equipment, running gear and other rolling stock : passenger train locomotive / passenger railcar components

Repair, replace and test machinery, components and systems related to rail equipment by performing mechanical, electro-mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic work

Review and understand repair requests, safety instructions, blueprints, schematic and diagram to ascertain test specification, procedures, objectives, nature of technical activity and possible solutions such as disassemble and replace, adjust, or repair regarding the maintenance functions of both the locomotive and railcar equipment

Dismantle, assemble, and replace new or modified mechanical components or assemblies for railcars / trains such as HVAC, brake, pneumatic system, propulsion equipment, truck and car body equipment and sub-system for trains so equipment can pass inspections

Perform quality tests and verifications to ensure safe performance of sub-assemblies or components

Qualifications :

Technical experience working with mechanical ( diesel mechanic ) and industrial electrical system ( ideally electro-mechanical experience )

Capable of reading and understanding electrical and/or mechanical drawings, schematics, maintenance manuals

Experience using power tools (impact gun, air ratchet, spinal gun) and hand tools

Ideally a familiarity with AC and DC power and control systems and HVAC systems experience will be a plus
