JOB DESCRIPTION: This FULL-TIME position is in the Economic Self Sufficiency Service Center in Tampa and will be responsible for interviewing applicants to determine type of services and public assistance in the Virtual Intake Unit (VIU). Duties of the Interviewing Clerk include conducting phone interviews and explaining eligibility with applicants and recipients for public assistance programs, determining eligibility for expedited food stamp services, entering client data into database based on intake of caller information, maintaining necessary files and records, and completing general clerical duties to include using computer to input data for clients who are applying for public assistance benefits, using photocopy machine, scanner and other office machines. Your application will be reviewed to determine if you meet the minimum requirements for the position and if so, you will be contacted via email to complete an on-line computer skill and typing assessment. You must attain a proficient score to be interviewed for the position. This position is Career Service and will be paid $1,298.46 Bi-Weekly and scheduled for full-time hours. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A high school diploma or its equivalent and two years of clerical or public contact experience. College education from an accredited institution or vocational/technical training can substitute at the rate of 30 semester, 45 quarter or 720 classroom hours for each year of the required experience.
PREFERENCE:
Bilingual in Spanish or Creole preferred

Knowledge and application of the policies, procedures, laws, and programs governing the agency.
Ability to speak clearly and correctly, and to communicate with others to obtain and verify information concerning eligibility.
Detect and evaluate potential fraudulent situations.

Navigate through computer screens, and complete and review basic computer documents and other forms.

Be proficient in the use of the computer including exceptional typing skills.
