The following position is now available in the Infrastructure Product Engineering area of Information Systems:

  • IS Senior Engineer 2 The Information Systems Engineering position involves defining, developing, maintaining, and advising on the effective use of the Publix information technology architecture to maximize their value. Some examples of systems engineering tasks include:
  • Software and hardware installation, configuration, integration, and support
  • Systems and project design and architecture
  • Systems and network management activities
  • Problem determination, resolution, and prevention
  • Systems security, vulnerability remediations, and regular audit tasks
  • Project team participation, technical steward lead, peer mentor collaborator, and effective proactive facilitator
  • New technology awareness, research and systems integration related to current and future Publix technology state
  • Maintain vendor relationships while extracting maximum value for Publix with efficient time utilization
  • Create, review, collaborate, and update documentation for internal and peer customer use
  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or analytical discipline, or equivalent experience
  • Four years of experience implementing, supporting, and migrating core VMware technologies including vCenter, ESXi, VSAN and NSX
  • Four years of experience implementing and supporting VMware product stack such as vROPS, vRLI, SDDC Manager, LCM, vIDM, and vRNI
  • Four years of experience implementing, supporting, converting, and upgrading Windows Server & Red Hat Enterprise Linux operating systems
  • Experience with HPE hardware vendor product stack
  • Experience with platform related dependencies to include server, NAS/SAN, hyperconverged solutions, core network design concepts, and hybrid cloud solutions
  • Experience with various infrastructure platform management tools to include Hyper-V, HPE ILO, SCCM, SCVMM, vCenter, HPE OneView, VMware Skyline, etc.
  • Experience with PowerShell and PowerCLI scripting, and
  • Experience with Automation and Development Operations
  • Experience implementing, supporting, and migrating Windows Server 2016, 2019, and 2022 operating systems
  • Experience in operational automation technologies (VRA, Chef, Puppet, Ansible, Orchestrator or SCCM OS Deployments)
  • Good understanding of traditional waterfall Systems Development Lifecycle (SDLC), SCRUM, and agile methodologies
  • Experience creating, managing, and updating server images, ISOs, clones, and templates
  • Experience working with vulnerability management tools, and remediation activities
  • Experience working in a process structured environment which includes Change Management and Disaster Recovery Preparedness
  • Solid understanding of the functional and operational practices necessary to operate in a highly available, highly secure, and highly regulated environment to meet business, security, and compliance requirements, and
  • Experience leading large projects from requirements through implementation.
