The Manager, Business Applications and Project Management is responsible for the management of the software application and development teams, including project management, business analysis and quality assurance. This role is responsible for the timely delivery of IT projects in partnership with application lead, functional and operational teams. Transformative in nature, these initiatives drive revenue growth, improve productivity, and create efficiencies for the business. The Manager, Business Applications and Project Management also serves as a resource to all internal clients for IT program or project related needs. This role manages the staffing and resource allocation of the resources. They manage the Application Change Management process where they partner with the business and operations teams to prioritize projects and work efforts, outlines release strategy and overall release delivery. Facilitates use of software delivery best practices, tools and processes to ensure a quality delivery. Additionally, leads the vision, design and delivery of key transformative projects as well.

  • Partners with business and operational stakeholders to identify and prioritize key projects for the organization
  • Manages a team of developers, business analysts, QA analysts, and project managers responsible for the analysis and implementation of new business system development and existing system improvements
  • Sets attainable goals to team members to complete projects on time.
  • Allocates team resources and monitors deliverables to ensure client needs are met successfully, within budget and in a timely fashion
  • Coordinates with other teams to identify and implement new systems to support business function at effective cost
  • Improves business processes and supports critical business strategies by managing the development, implementation, and maintenance of business applications systems
  • Communicates with stakeholders at all levels of the organization
  • Implements large technology projects in SaaS, cloud and on-premise environments
  • Manage third party implementation partners and vendors
  • Plans for and manages capital and operations budgets.
  • Monitors and communicates software program/project progress relative to scope, schedules, spend and quality
  • Maintains issue logs, decision logs, status reports, meeting summaries, project schedules
  • Matrix manages cross functional teams including IT and business resources
  • Contributes to best practices within IT project lifecycle and project governance
  • Designs and leads large programs with multiple interdependent projects
  • Designs and facilitates group meetings and workshops to bring leaders to a common understanding and to secure commitment for program execution
  • Navigates politically charged circumstances, and guides stakeholders to select solutions
  • Baselines end-to-end process or department / site performance to identify the improvement opportunities to achieve organizational goals
  • Trains and coaches others on technology change management as well as the appropriate application of project management methods and tools
  • Establishes and maintains appropriate systems for measuring effectiveness of projects and processes in driving organizational performance and containing costs
  • Directs daily operations of assigned team, including analyzing workflows, establishing priorities, developing standards and setting deadlines
  • Assigns and reviews the work of all software development and delivery team members
  • Ensures that all tasks are completed on schedule, internal partner activities are clear and unambiguous, contract personnel are qualified to perform the tasks, and potential personnel problems are prevented
  • Reviews and approves all systems related documentation and programs prior to their execution
  • Analyzes application and information needs of customer organizations, including operational and strategic perspectives
  • Coordinates problem resolution with various task managers, coordinate schedules, new resource requirements, training needs, and task clarification
  • Develops information resources, providing for data security and control, strategic computing, and disaster recovery
  • Establishes and applies streamlined processes and procedures that enable team to rapidly respond to surge requirements for increased contract personnel
  • Assures SLA requirements are met
  • Performs analysis and determines how a system should work and how changes in conditions, operations, and the environment will affect outcomes
Provides mentoring, performance feedback and supervision to team members Required Experience:
  • 7 or more years of Related Experience - Able to manage across programs and handle multiple complex IT projects simultaneously
  • Minimum of 2 years in a supervisory role in a technical environment
  • Strong working knowledge of software development lifecycle concepts
  • Experienced with information security and secure coding processes
  • Experience in technology change management best practices
  • Demonstrate strong customer service skills and ability to effectively present technical ideas, solutions, and proposals to a diverse group of individuals. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures
  • Extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
  • Leading and directing the work of others; adept at performance management
  • Able to work collaboratively and creatively to develop solutions
  • Excellent communication skills with capability of dealing effectively with internal clients at all levels of the organizational structure
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proficient in MS Office, Project, and Visio
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
Desired:
  • Degree in business or technology related field, combined with 3 years experience in software application development and deployment
  • Knowledge of subject matter at a level normally demonstrated by a bachelors degree or higher.
Preferred:
  • Bachelors degree in business or technology related field and associated work experience
Experience on project management disciplines
