Job DescriptionMission Technologies a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries is looking for a Chief Engineer Manager for the Mobility Air Forces Distributed Mission Operations (MAF DMO) Program in Orlando, FL. The Chief Engineer will serve as the technical point of contact between contractor and the customer. The selected candidate will provide management, direction, administration, quality assurance, and leadership on MAF DMO technical matters.The selected candidate will ensure delivery of all services as required by the MAF DMO task order while coordinating with a geographically separated team of employees and subcontractors to meet Mobility Air Force Training requirements.Essential Job ResponsibilitiesPerforms technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal. Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications.- Oversees and manages the technical aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management.
- Reviews status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports. Assess project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.
- Develop mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.
- Provide technical solutions for MAF DMO standards development, verifying interoperability of simulators and equipment on the network, executing MAF events as scheduled, and performing integration and test of MAF DMO Aircrew Training System (ATS) platforms onto the Distributed Training Center Network (DTCN)
- The ability to work onsite and in the office.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent plus 10 years relevant experience; OR Master's degree plus 8 years relevant experience.
- History of maintaining technical expertise in all areas of networked simulation systems, including network and computer hardware, simulation software, integration and interoperability of networked simulation using standards-based protocols (e.g., DIS, HLA) and enterprise IT Systems and architecture.
- Knowledge of tools to conduct a cost/benefit analysis to provide specific detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements.
- Experience creating designs and plans for a networked enterprise architecture.
- Experience creating and modifying specifications and detailed schematics for networked enterprise architecture.
- Experience managing an engineering and technical team of 15 or more
- Strong technical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Must be able to travel to include internationally.
- Previous experience managing a USAF distributed training network
- Experience in MAF operations and training.
