As a Maintenance Supervisor, you will be responsible for leading and managing the effective day-to-day activities of multi-craft maintenance employees and contractors for Operations. This includes involvement in all matters relating to performance management, team and employee development, change management, business leadership, and the implementation of systems.

What you'll be doing
  • Demonstrating safety leadership for the maintenance department
  • Leveraging all maintenance resources effectively to achieve operational performance objectives in areas of Safety, Downtime, Scrap, and Quality
  • Driving Plant Reliability improvements by the effective application of maintenance systems and processes
  • Accelerating the use of Predictive Technologies and Preventive Maintenance Practices to improve equipment reliability while reducing maintenance costs
  • Driving total plant performance while remaining within the constraints of the maintenance budget
  • Forecasting maintenance related cost on both a monthly and annual basis
  • Leading Root Cause Failure Analysis to ensure proper solutions to maintenance issues are implemented
  • Supervising up to 30 maintenance craftsmen

What will make you successful
  • Leadership skills with a proven track record of success and ability to drive results
  • Knowledge of process improvement tools and techniques including Six Sigma, Lean and SMED

Required Qualifications
  • Maintenance supervisory experience
  • High School Diploma OR GED
  • Knowledge of preventive and predictive maintenance technology

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in technical discipline, or related

About the location (Pensacola FL)

Our Pensacola Plant, one of twelve Armstrong plants in North America, employs 200+ people working on rotating shifts, 24/7, in the manufacture and shipment of acoustical ceiling tile to Armstrong's customers worldwide. The Pensacola Plant was originally built in 1929 to produce insulating building material.

Pensacola is the westernmost city in the Florida Panhandle. Pensacola is a seaport on Pensacola Bay, which is protected by 52 miles of sugar white barrier islands on the emerald waters of the Gulf of Mexico. A large United States Naval Air Station, the first in the United States, is located southwest of the city and is the home of the Blue Angels flight demonstration team and the National Naval Aviation Museum.

Pensacola is nicknamed "The City of Five Flags", due to the five governments that have ruled it during its history.
