JOB SUMMARY: The Manager, Software Quality Engineering Automation is responsible for leading the UPR Parks Technology global Quality Engineering – Test Automation team in a fast-paced environment. This role creates, assists, and troubleshoots the development and implementation of Test Automation framework, standards, procedures, and best practices for complex/data-driven web, mobile, eCommerce, and revenue management software applications.

This role manages the daily/weekly activities of the QA Automation Team and provides technical guidance and expertise to team members, colleagues, and/or customers; contributes to program/project review meetings by determining status, assessing problem areas, suggesting and reviewing corrective actions.

The Manager, Software Quality Engineering Automation participates in all aspects of the agile software development lifecycle and works with project stakeholders to determine the appropriate quality initiatives to implement during system development life cycles. This role supports upward stakeholder management and day-to-day risk management; develops and maintains strong working relationships with other IT services, IT solution functions, and customers to expedite delivery of test solutions; and provides authoritative advice and guidance on any aspect of test planning and execution

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the QA Automation team to streamline and execute a robust and sustainable test automation. Work within quality frameworks to ensure stability, efficiency, and scalability. Responsible for the integrity of testing and acceptance activities and coordination of the execution of these activities. Reviews requirements and specifications and defines automated test solutions.
  • Carries out leadership responsibilities for the QA Automation team which includes coaching, mentoring, hiring and onboarding of new team members.
  • Identifies tools and processes to improve quality and implement world class strategy for regression and feature testing.
  • Manage software quality SLA and refine metrics and report testing metrics. Maintain and Guide Test Automation Suites Execution and undertake analysis of results to ensure that software meets or exceeds specified standards and technical requirements.
  • Manage budget for QA test automation activities.
  • Partner with solution delivery and enterprise services teams for application software quality and defect resolution.
  • Interface with NBCU EQA department to ensure enterprise wide standards are leveraged.
  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:Bachelor’s degree from a four year college or university preferred in software development, computer science, or equivalent.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years’ experience in designing/reviewing Project Estimation/Sizing, Test Plan, Test Strategy, Testing Road Map, Issue List, Daily Status Report, Weekly Status Report, Test Summary Report, Traceability Matrix, Test Condition, Test Script and preparation of Test Data manually.
  • 3+ years’ experience in managing test automation team with responsibility for utilization, assignments and reporting.
  • 3+ years’ experience in handling multiple projects, estimation, forecasting, metrics collection and team management.
  • Experience in building test automation strategy for eCommerce, web, mobile, and revenue management applications.
  • Experience in direct responsibility for supervising personnel (i.e., set goals, assign work, review performance, and conduct career development discussions).
  • Demonstrated experience and success leading and managing QA teams.
  • Experience with structured test methodologies, process improvement, QA automation and performance testing tools.
  • Expertise in automated software testing.
  • Proven expertise in test design, test development, and QA of cost-effective enterprise level application systems, middleware, and web solutions.
  • Proven experience using test management and defect tracking systems such as Jira.
  • Hands on expertise with test automation tools such as Appium, Selenium and BrowserStack.
  • Or equivalent combination of education and experience.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

  • Strong managerial skills, as well as excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Test Management Tools.
  • Ability to support a fast-paced and growing team within Parks Technology, handling release management and efforts.
  • Ability to understand business problems/situations, map them to technology solutions and add value to the final testing deliverables.
  • Improve continuous product or service quality by implementing process controls, data analysis and compliance.
  • Lead various types of QA automation testing efforts.
  • Develop test plans, create test cases scenarios, execute test programs, implement statistics, process controls tools.
  • Work with development teams in implementing and improving quality standards and processes.
  • Technical Skills

    • Tools: Selenium, Jira, Mercury Loadrunner, Appium, ReadyAPI, BrowserStock, Performance, database, java, link and web test tools.
    • Knowledge in Development Languages is a plus: HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, Java, SQL, .Net, NodeJS.
    • SD Methodologies: Agile, Scrum, Waterfall, Kanban
    • Architecture: OOP, client server, web based and mobile applications a plus
    • Databases: MS SQL Server, My SQL
    • Infrastructure: SVN, TWiki, XMLSpy
    • Operating Systems Windows and Linux
    • Software and Tools: GitHub and Team Foundation Server (TFS)
