JOB SUMMARY: The Manager of Account Marketing on the Trade Marketing team is responsible for driving marketing communications initiatives in support of assigned domestic sales channels and external clients for both Universal Orlando and Universal Studios Hollywood. The responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to: alignment with sales channels and leaders across the division on annual plans, co-op marketing opportunities, and general marketing needs to drive the business. It is a priority for this manager to lead on-going communication with internal and external Sales partners. This position requires a strong working knowledge of Sales account marketing, retail offer marketing, communication strategy, and project intake management. This is a collaborative role which works closely with several teams across the Marketing & Sales division.

In addition to own accounts and projects, the position oversees the team responsible for the successful evaluation, prioritization, and implementation of marketing initiatives through the sales channels and top clients. Individual must possess strong interpersonal skills with the ability to lead and motivate team of direct reports, interdepartmental teams and influence internal/external clients.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

TEAM MANAGEMENT

  • Motivates and develops team of marketing professionals to achieve maximum results and empowering them to lead, communicate and collaborate across divisions in ways that inspire confidence and ownership. Lead direct reports on day-to-day account marketing efforts and guide them for success. Direct them to navigate through the process and share best practices for alignment and communication across the division and destinations. Develop action plans for continued professional growth of team. Cultivate team member satisfaction and overall wellbeing of the team. Directs special assignment or interns as needed. Responsible for embodying the culture standards of trust, collaborate, fun, ownership, innovation and winning together.

MANAGEMENT OF ACCOUNTS

  • Lead day-to-day communication with internal sales and resort account managers, leaders and external clients. Schedule and oversee on-going meetings to ensure alignment with the Sales teams. The Manager is to focus heavily on top clients that are driving solid business results while planning, prioritizing, and developing efficient marketing tools to support the Sales teams and clients for both destinations. Ensure that marketing tactics being used and/or developed by external clients aligns with Universal’s Brand strategy, standards, and approval parameters. As the Sales main point of contact of the Trade Marketing team, this individual manages internal relationships with partners, including, but not limited to: Sales, Brand Marketing, Creative, Communication channels, Legal, LP, etc. Interacts frequently with executive leadership. Possess strong judgment and organizational skills to balance multiple projects with staggered delivery dates, as well as prioritize account needs for efficient tactic delivery and manage internal stakeholder expectations.

PLANNING & ALIGNMENT

  • Work closely with internal Sales and Resort partners and senior leaders to understand their business goals, priorities, and key annual initiatives. Determine marketing objectives and Manage the development of account strategic marketing plans for channels within OUS, FL, CA, and In-Market segments. Collaborates regularly with internal partners across the Brand, Resorts, and Trade Marketing teams for alignment and efficiency. Responsible for presenting plans, campaign efforts and results to leadership and internal partners. The Manager will represent the Trade Marketing team in Marketing & Sales division meetings as needed.

  • Understands and actively participates in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UO policy, procedures, training and team member involvement activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, and/or business administration is required. Master’s degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE:5+ years of relevant experience in marketing communications. Previous marketing and sales experience within the travel/tourism industry is a plus; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
