Description/Deliverables The Department's OIT is seeking the services of an experienced Network Engineer to provide daily support for the network infrastructure. This candidate will successfully complete tasks in relation to the Scope of Work below.

Scope of Work/Job Characteristics The Network Engineer's duties and responsibilities in this position include:• Diagnose and resolve problems across a variety of hardware platforms and vendors including Cisco, Juniper, F5, Checkpoint, Palo Alto, and more;• Communicating and working within cross-departmental teams;• Identify automation opportunities as well as areas that can be improved to optimize the operation, such as documentation and monitoring adjustments;• Develop and maintain technical specifications, standards, procedures, and systems documentation;• Work with Data Center staff, OIT, and users to perform server installations, upgrades, and configuration changes; and• Research and recommend appropriate technical solutions to meet functional requirements.

Education Requirements Bachelor's Degree, from an accredited college/university, in Computer Science, Information Systems, other related field, or four (4) years of equivalent work experience.

Required Qualifications The Department requires the following experience, skills, and/or knowledge for this position:• Experience working with a large (2,500 user or more) network environment;• Experience installing, configuring, and supporting Enterprise Firewalls;• Experience installing, configuring, and supporting Enterprise WAN environments;• Proficiency troubleshooting in both WAN and LAN environments;• Experience working with MyFloridaNet (MFN) and the State Division of Telecommunications; and• Proficiency in Command line configuration.NOTE: In addition to the above list, all selected candidates must successfully complete a Level II Background Check.

Preferred Qualifications The Department prefers the candidate has the following experience, skills, and/or knowledge for this position:• Experience working in a criminal justice environment;• Experience working with Cisco firewalls, routers, and switches;• Experience with MyFloridaNet (MFN) configuration and design;• Proficiency with Cisco SourceFire IPS;•Working knowledge of Kiwi CatTools, Aruba Clearpass / Airwave;• Knowledge of HP/ Aruba, Cisco switches;• Experience designing and deploying Network Access Control via Aruba Clearpass;• Experience mapping remote LANs, and creating detailed documentation, MS Visio • Experience designing wireless networks with an emphasis on security, creating Heat Maps, troubleshooting RF interference ;• Skilled at researching, developing and supporting network monitoring tools similar to Cacti, solar winds;• Proficiency programming in Python, C, and PowerShell scripting;• Advanced knowledge of HP managed switches;• Knowledge of Mojo wireless controllers and APs;• Experience with VoIP systems configuration, troubleshooting, and QoS;• Knowledge of wireless security;• Experience with network monitoring tools;• Experience using Linux;• Experience with state government projects;• Experience using Offender Based Information System (OBIS);• Knowledge of IT standards in a criminal justice environment; and• Experience working with CSAB ordering processes.The Contractor must complete the Department’s Security Awareness Training within 30 calendar days of starting, and must pass a Level II Background screen prior to accessing the CLIENT system.
