Job Purpose: Assists in the planning, forecasting, implementation, and identification of resource requirements for network systems (including wireless) of moderate complexity. Participates in network planning, network architecture design and engineering. Integrates and schematically depicts communication architectures, topologies, hardware, software, transmission and signaling links and protocols into complete network configurations. Evaluates new products, performs network problem resolution and assists in the development and documentation of technical standards and interface applications. Monitors protocol compatibility performs system tuning and makes recommendations for improvement.Minimum Requirements: Education –Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or another related field. Or equivalent work experience.Required Qualifications -• A minimum of 3 years of IT work experience in infrastructure/network environments performing network engineering (hardware and/or software), design, planning and implementation.
Job Responsibilities• Analyze the current infrastructure of the Lottery’s network and make the necessary modifications to ensure a stateless environment.• Analyze and implement changes to the network application to address any security vulnerabilities.• Assist in any project that requires network services for communication.• Develop and maintain existing network infrastructure.• Mentor Lottery network staff to achieve self-reliance with all projects assigned and completed.• Identify processes for improvement, document existing processes, identify and analyze gaps between current processes and product capabilities, design new processes, develop process performance measures and assist team with transition to a new process.• Handle day-to-day management of assigned projects and prioritize workload to ensure project deadlines are met.• Write technical documentation.• The Lottery reserves the right to extend or expand the statement of work of the resultant Agreement to other related projects.
