THIS IS AN OPS (TEMPORARY) POSITION WORKING 15-25 HOURS PER WEEK Your Specific Responsibilities: The incumbent is part of a global public health organization and is expected to support the Florida Department of Health in Citrus County in its mission to protect, promote and improve the health of all people in Florida through integrated state, county and community efforts and its vision to be the healthiest state in the nation. Furthermore, the incumbent is expected to incorporate the agency values of Innovation, Collaboration, Accountability, Responsiveness and Excellence in all aspects of their work. This is professional work providing basic social services to individuals and families in the WIC Program. Incumbent may be required to work during or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency. Emergency operations functions required of the incumbent include but are not limited to special needs shelters, Red Cross shelters, or other emergency functions, including responses to bioterrorism or threats of bioterrorism. Adheres to Florida Department of Health Citrus County Confidentiality and Security policies and procedures. Attends Annual Confidentiality and Security Trainings and updates. Must have a valid Florida driver’s license.

Has computer access to HMS. Adheres to Confidentiality and Security policies and procedures.
Must have a valid Driver’s license.
Provides breastfeeding support services for Citrus County Health Department WIC and Nutrition Program.
Provides breastfeeding support counseling in WIC clinics and by telephone contact.
Is available outside usual 8 to 5 working hours to provide information and support to mothers with breastfeeding questions or problems
Attends all required WIC Health Department breastfeeding program meetings and inservice training as assigned
Responsible for securing the designated information set for protecting confidentiality, data integrity, and appropriate access, for all information, both confidential and public record, which is stored in hard copy or electronic formats.
Refers breastfeeding clients to other public assistance programs per Health Department /WIC guidelines.
Maintains and updates breastfeeding client files.
Records and reports accurate data on all client contacts per WIC policy.
Provides follow-up service and documentation on all referrals.
Performs other duties as requested by Supervisor.

Qualifications:
Minimum- Must maintain a valid Florida’s Drivers License
Required: Has breast-fed an infant/child for a minimum of 6 months within the last 5 years.
