Description We are in the process of recruiting a Patient Registration detail oriented to join our team in the Healthcare industry, based in Panama City, FL. This role offers a contract to permanent employment opportunity. The chosen candidate will be responsible for various tasks related to patient registration in both OB and ER departments. Responsibilities: Accurately and efficiently process patient registrations and verify insurance details, ensuring that all necessary data elements are collected for proper patient identification and billing. Keep patient demographic information updated on ADT systems as per departmental policy and procedures. Analyze physician orders for appropriate testing or admission criteria. Coordinate patient admission needs and assign beds to facilitate timely patient placement. Identify non-participating insurances or out of network plans and inform patients and physicians about their options. Obtain copies of insurance cards or validate insurance information via electronic medical record, transfer information, or insurance eligibility tool. Provide accurate patient and hospital information along with wayfinding instructions to patients, families, visitors, and ancillary areas. Prepare documents for imaging/scanning into the electronic patient record. Ensure all documents are signed and witnessed as required, explaining the processes and forms to patients beforehand. Assemble and disassemble patient charts or departmental documents as per the department policy. Copy or fax documents to ancillary areas or physician offices. Maintain control of the inventory of forms and paper supplies needed in the area. Assist with all possible account resolutions related to patient balances. Perform any other duties and projects as assigned. Requirements Experience in the Healthcare industry and Cerner EMR system Familiarity with emergency procedures and patient handling Proven experience in Patient Registration and Patient Registrar roles Knowledge and understanding of Insurance Verifications Experience in Medical Insurance Verification Demonstrable skills in Patient Access Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment High level of accuracy and attention to detail Proficiency in using healthcare related software and systems Strong organizational and multitasking skills Willingness to work in shifts, over weekends, or on public holidays if required Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality Understanding of healthcare regulations and medical terminologies.
