Eligibility may vary.Position descriptionThis position will primarily staff the Patient and Visitor COVID-19 screening stations and assist with vaccine clinic throughout the Mayo Clinic Florida campus. This position requires continuous face to face patient interaction and communication with physicians, nursing, and other clinical support staff; requires critical thinking skills with strong attention to detail. Requires the ability to prioritize daily tasks simultaneously within a fast paced, ever changing work environment; must be adaptable and flexible within a strong team structure. Obtain and verify patient demographics, scan medical insurance information into the Epic EMR, advises patients of scheduling delays and serves as a direct contact and resource to the patient. Performs related administrative duties such as the scheduling/rescheduling of appointments, processing of ABN forms, consent forms for services, PAG- patient appointment guide communications, and other related materials. Able to navigate through multiple electronic applications and devices examples include: iPad/tablets, Text Reminder Notifications, and assisting patients with Self Check-In Kiosks. Ability to understand logistics and how it can relate to your work area associated with the flow of patients throughout Mayo Clinic; with attention to standards of safety and security. Requires strong problem solving skills with the ability to make decisions promptly and utilize appropriate resources in multiple areas to research/resolve issues related to the episode of care. Other job-related duties as assigned by leadership including training of new employees. This role requires flexibility which may include cross-coverage to other areas in need as well as work schedule adjustments in response to departmental needs.During the selection process you may participate in an OnDemand (pre-recorded) interview that you can complete at your convenience. During the OnDemand interview, a question will appear on your screen, and you will have time to consider each question before responding. You will have the opportunity to re-record your answer to each question – Mayo Clinic will only see the final recording. The complete interview will be reviewed by a Mayo Clinic staff member and you will be notified of next stepsQualificationsHigh school diploma or GED and one year of customer service experience required, such as administrative, physician's office, appointment scheduler or retail/service industry. Requires computer skills including Windows-based applications and intranet/internet use with the ability to keyboard and navigate through multiple applications. Individuals that have not completed a Medical Terminology course will be required to successfully complete a Medical Terminology course within six months of employment.Additional qualificationsProblem solving, continuous improvement and team building skills required. Superior verbal and written communication skills are necessary. Successfully demonstrate the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced challenging work environment. Ability to comprehend and excel in both verbal and written communication, including proper telephone etiquette, face-to-face interactions, and electronic communications.
