Description We are searching for a Payroll Manager to join our team located in Lakeland, Florida. This role involves overseeing payroll operations for our client that spans across multiple states. The Payroll Manager will be tasked with ensuring accurate and compliant payroll processing, managing vendor relationships, and continuously evaluating and improving payroll processes and systems.Responsibilities: Lead the payroll team, fostering a positive culture and driving departmental growth. Oversee the accurate and timely processing of weekly payroll, including payroll taxes, deductions, garnishments, and benefits in compliance with federal and state laws and regulations. Utilize the payroll platform for weekly payroll and provide configuration support related to payroll processes. Prepare reports summarizing payroll-related expenditures and balance payroll registers to W-2 on a quarterly and annual basis. Assist in complex payroll calculations or situations as needed. Manage relationships with vendors related to payroll processing. Stay updated with laws and regulations related to payroll and recommend changes to policies and procedures as required. Continually evaluate payroll processes and systems to identify areas for improvement and implement changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. Administer established policies and procedures, while influencing departmental budgeting, strategic planning, and procedural change.Requirements Possess a minimum of 7 years of experience in a payroll management role Proven experience in handling full cycle payroll processing Ability to manage multi-state payroll processing Strong organizational and communication skills Detail-oriented with high degree of accuracy Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information Strong knowledge of payroll tax laws and regulations Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred Certification as a Payroll Professional (CPP) is a plus Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and mentor a team.Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
