Description We are in search of a diligent PC Technician Trainee to join our local government team based in West Palm Beach, Florida. As a PC Technician Trainee, you will primarily be tasked with installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting end user computers and peripherals. You will also be involved in responding to user inquiries, maintaining accurate records and logs, and configuring personal computers for new employees. This role offers a long term contract employment opportunity.Responsibilities: Install, configure, and upgrade end user computers and peripherals to ensure efficient operations. Troubleshoot hardware and software issues to maintain optimal system performance. Respond to user inquiries, both on-site and over the telephone, providing guidance on the safe and efficient use of their computers and programs. Maintain detailed notes and logs on computer assistance provided, computer settings, and computer asset inventory database. Configure personal computers for new employees to ensure they have the necessary tools to perform their duties. Install connectivity to the network and/or relocate existing hardware to accommodate end user’s relocation within various departments. Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate action when necessary. Utilize skills in Microsoft, Networking, Operating System, Active Directory, Computer Hardware, and Deskside Support to effectively perform job functions. Perform other related duties as assigned, in line with the role's function within the local government industry. Requirements Possess a foundational understanding of Microsoft applications and systems Basic knowledge of networking principles and practices Familiarity with various operating systems and their functionalities Experience with Active Directory management and configurations Ability to troubleshoot and repair computer hardware Willingness to provide deskside support to staff and assist with IT queries or issues Good communication skills to explain technical terms in a non-technical manner Ability to work in a team and collaborate effectively with colleagues Eagerness to learn and improve technical skills High school diploma or equivalent educational qualification required Previous experience in a similar role would be advantageous but not mandatoryTechnology Doesn't Change the World, People Do.® Robert Half is the world’s first and largest specialized talent solutions firm that connects highly qualified job seekers to opportunities at great companies.
