This position is located at Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital - (Hollywood, FL) - and will serve as part of the hospital department leadership team to support pediatric trauma and related program needs. The Pediatric Trauma Program Manager participates in the implementation, advancement, evaluation and day to day operation of the Pediatric Trauma Center. This leader demonstrates clinical knowledge and skill in pediatric trauma and program guidelines/requirements in addition to performance improvement/quality assurance principles to support related needs for all populations overseen/impacted by the pediatric trauma program. This role also leads /participates in education, health system and local trauma agency initiatives, research, injury prevention and outreach activities. This position will represent the Pediatric Trauma Center at local, state and national organizations. The Pediatric Trauma Program Manager collaborates with trauma physicians, the extended trauma team as well as the adult program team and all other health care disciplines to provide excellent clinical care to the pediatric population overseen by the trauma program.

Summary:
Organizes and coordinates the activities and flow of work for the Memorial Healthcare System Trauma Program.

Detailed responsibilities:
Consults with members of the care team to ensure effective and efficient patient care delivery and achievement of desired patient outcomes. Monitors national trends and data to identify opportunities for strategic program goals and components/services.
Develops, implements and maintains quality improvement activities for trauma services including outcome and cost analysis, preparing benchmark data reports, hospital trauma registry (HTR) system reports, and American College of Surgeons (ACS) clinical indicators. Coordinates, assembles, and maintains required documentation for verification by the Florida Department of Health
Prepares, monitors, and evaluates departmental budgets and grants, and ensures that the department operates in compliance with allocated funding. Coordinates and participates in internal/external audits.
Serves as a resource and educator to healthcare team members, patients, families, and community organizations regarding trauma. Coordinates and develops community trauma preventions programs, community offerings and clinical education activities.
Plans and monitors staffing activities, including hiring, orienting, evaluating, disciplinary actions, and continuing education initiatives.
