You will be supported as you follow your dreams and find where you belong, here at Tradition Hospital.Cleveland Clinic's pharmacy areas support distributive and clinical pharmacy services provided by staff pharmacists, clinical pharmacy specialists and pharmacy technicians, supporting units, ORs, PACUs and/or cath labs. In this role, the infusion pharmacy technician supports pharmacists in providing pharmacy services. The technician is responsible for the preparations of sterile compounds both chemotherapy and non-chemotherapy, inventory control, ordering supplies and medications as needed, and USP 797 guidelines adherence.A caregiver in this position works days, from 8:00am-4:30pm.A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Prepare medications through selecting, labeling, repacking, non-sterile compounding, and sterile compounding.
Deliver medications to the appropriate storage locations in an accurate and timely manner.
Maintain accurate and appropriate inventories of medications and supplies and complete inventory audits, such as cycle counts and nursing unit inspections.
Maintain a safe and clean work area by complying with procedures, rules and regulations, and document regulatory requirements such as temperature logs, scheduled activities, and training.
Use information systems, technology, and automation to complete assigned tasks.
Assist with the training of pharmacy caregivers and students.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
A high school diploma or GED.
Licensed in Florida as a Registered Pharmacy Technician.
Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) validated through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) website.
Can communicate with other caregivers and patients in an effective and positive manner.
Can perform algebraic calculations necessary for the preparation of extemporaneous compounds.
Basic computer skills.
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Completion of a formal pharmacy technician training program.
Six months of hospital experience.
