This position is under the supervision of Carla L. Fisher, PhD, Professor and Carma L. Bylund, Professor in the Division of Health Outcomes and Implementation Science. The post-doctoral associate will play a leading role in adapting an existing family caregiver communication skills intervention to target the needs of both spousal cancer caregivers and dementia family caregivers. This role will also involve leading two distinct phases of intervention development using narrative-grounded, qualitative research designs in intervention development and implementation science.Duties Include:Manage 2 research project operations of two grant-funded research projects including: monitor and coordinate research project operations, plans, and timelines; lead and attend team meetings; monitor progress of work conducted by supporting study team members; communicate with department fiscal teams or other key staff/administrators; communicate and coordinate with video team for production of intervention components; manage the timelines for and draft progress reports. Maintain project compliance with regulations including the following tasks: creating and managing IRB protocols; serving as custodian for human subjects payments; creating data use agreements; and managing budgets. Assist as needed with study management including: recruitment; conducting in-depth interviews; managing qualitative dataset; analyzing data; and training and overseeing team of secondary coders. Adapting intervention components including: developing behavior modeling tools for intervention implementation using formative qualitative findings; adapt existing intervention component scripts for adaptation; hiring of and payment to actors for narrative components; soliciting/managing feedback sessions with stakeholders; tracking adaptation of all intervention components. Develop academic and intervention materials including: writing conference abstracts; writing or contributing to peer-reviewed manuscripts; developing power point slides for presentations; developing posters for presentation; and creating assessment materials.
